The House appears to be familiar. Situated in the middle of nowhere, in an undefined place could become a setting for a film drama. In summer; however, stories do not seem to unfold. Instead they freeze in the heat, crust from the sun, leisurely wander about. Dinner table anecdotes meander around the House, long forgotten memories come back and echo in overheard conversations. Sculptures listen to the stories contained in amphoras and create a closed circuit. The scenery in which action stalled just before denouement has become the place of anticipation of a drama which never happened and undoubtedly will not happen. The journey to the other side of the bay means only an encounter with time which passed before we arrived there.
But under the fossilized layer of salt everyday objects become monumental: the table, the sunbed, the same stories repeated over and over like a news ticker on the TV screen. Agata Ingarden brings the still life back to life, shakes the dust off the aged genre and incorporates the suspended contemporary tales into the universal narrative.
