Three of the most distinctive voices among the new generation of Romanian artists (George Crîngașu, Mihuț Boșcu Kafchin, Răzvan Botiș) are invited to redefine the gallery context – to reflect upon their status within Sabot. By embracing their quite unexpected statement – ‘we are folders on Sabot’s desktop’ – the gallery becomes the art object, or rather the subject of intellectual concoction.

Mihuț Boșcu Kafchin \ The Prophet: I remember that one day I developed this character who is living in the Internet; he doesn’t have a specific shape, he just takes the form generated by the terminal. Every computer in the network is a neuron and generates a virtual reality where time and space are programmable. I think that my art is a marriage between opposites, between a room full of electronics and a plein air.

Răzvan Botiș \ The Punster: Based on situations that I encounter or even on a simple doodle, I employ blend shapes, gradients, and other tools for the tigers of wrath which are the best receivers. Active pottery is better than passive poetry, and by this I mean that it takes knowledge to make a pot, but it will not keep its shape unless it is fired.

George Crîngașu \ The Digitizer: I do believe that the world has become a fable. A fable that, in a certain way, repeatedly digests itself, and with each new digestion certain things are retained, while others get erased. But this process is a formula more than a thought, and I believe it is a formula cast upon the current state of humanity by humanity’s own craving for itself.
