For her first institutional show in Germany, ram spin cram, Marie Angeletti (*1984) is presenting newly commissioned works across the entire building of the Kölnischer Kunstverein.

Decisively articulated, each element — sculpture, photography, and video — receives equal attention. ram spin cram does not begin in the main gallery nor ends in the last room upstairs, it is all there at once. Each room can be read as a series of actions accumulated over time. The main gallery shows work made within the last two months. In the cinema, in the upstairs and basement gallery spaces, Angeletti has rearranged works from an unspecified period of time.

Some I made last month, some I’ve collected and carried with me for a while. Every action precedes another – no center. I didn’t choose much. To a certain degree, I don’t think we ever do. An involuntary memory. Maybe a habitual succession in the same way that the individual is a succession. Bringing them all here, means to regroup the energy. Regroup the energy = silver. When light touches it, it dazzles.

Dizzle is a mix of dizzy and dazzle. Succession of different phases of life of habits of desire of energy. Action of the masses, gravity. High action of desire. High condition of desire. Arc: principle of the superior.

The concomitant movements of perception are disorganized. RAM and SPIN at the same time. The mechanical power of the engine is in the RAM and the SPIN.

Support structures = organs, mind/body, machinery of desire, the sexual urge Habit = ease, facility, power, grace, addiction, mechanic repetition

Or only joyful discoveries count. If you are not making them you are not moving. What’s our happy conclusion? It is that we have plenty of energy and we enjoy action.

Laugh was shot at The Menil Collection in Houston in November 2022.

Universal columns are floor-to-ceiling steel beams, defined by the four different heights of the exhibition hall, respectively 321, 311, 280, 274 cm tall and a total of 758 holes, which I made with a magnetic drill. It took less than a minute per hole. They were made in Marseille at the Dan Azur Ferronnerie, in February 2023, and all have a black hole inside them. Not sure of their exact weight because of all the holes.

White Board, found by Washington Square Park South last December. It starts with Corsica NYC Berlin, ends with Ukraine Moscow Greece.

More Balls, 107 new metal balls have been polished on January 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th 2023, and I added 334 from last year.

Silver prints, I continue some from RAM, and add some new ones:

Hand, Bull, Minerva, Untitled, Gun, Glass, Glass #02, Organ, Charité Berlin #02, Xenon #02 (images of the balls and the silver prints are recommended to be taken with flash)

Untitled, 43 kg of tinted black shattered glass on the roof. The glass is between the two bells’ towers.
