Squatters consist of a work made twice. To offer vertical and horizontal interpretations, one is placed above the other. To see both, you look up and down. To see each, you look across. Looking up, down, and across invites negotiation, reflection, and comparison of one thing to another. Engagement is not singular. To look up is to stand erect/have standing, to look down is to squat/to waste. To look across is to spill out. Horizontal is shared and vertical, a strident individuality. Best regarded with a squint of the eye and up close, a loupe.
