Park View / Paul Soto is pleased to present an exhibition by Autumn Ramsey. This will be Ramsey’s third monographic exhibition at the gallery.

Autumn Ramsey’s work has consistently addressed cultural and psychological issues in a personal language that is as attentive to the temporal body as it is to the illusion and allure of control. Lilly Pad, 2016, and Lilly Pad Too, 2010 or earlier, for example, with their potential for producing a blossom and an awakening from the mire and structures at the bottom of the pond, and The Fall, 2020, an iconic image of nationalism gone awry, make Ramsey’s framing of their multifaceted interpretations feel both critical and sympathetic in equal mea-sure. While each painting reflects an aspect of the whole, it is the collective space they occupy that is the sub-ject of Ramsey’s work, and her exhibition suggests that there is an implied recognition in the changing nature of personal and cultural orientations that resonates with each of us.
