A Home is not a House is the second part of the exhibition A House is not a Home (21.09-10.11.2019). In the first part, an open house welcomed the works of thirteen artists. These works questioned the ambiguous relationship of space and identity. For a time, the artworks lived there, mute and well arranged. The second part will present the consequences of this confined stay:
You come in… You have a sense of déjà vu. The welcoming and serene house in the first part has given way to a space that has withdrawn into itself. Haunted by the memory of a past visit, you don’t know if your memories are real. You are familiar with the space, yet the atmosphere has changed. If the place was inhabited, warm and welcoming, this time it’s just you facing traces of a long gone presence. In the confinment of this architecture it is now your turn to negotiate with the ghosts of identity.
