Antoine Levi gallery is pleased to present the solo exhibition Coeurtregetour by Ola Vasiljeva, opening on May 19th, 2016. The exhibition features a new series of drawings. They resemble detective sketches but the basis is not entirely decipherable – something very multi-limbed and very intoxicated is on trial here, in a room composed of compromised, unreliable, and deceptive judgement.
Coeurtregetour – a word made up by the artist, bubbling from the old-fashioned “tregetour” (magician, trickster) – follows a playful stream of associations.
In Ola Vasiljeva’s drawings, the characters inhabit a universe defined by its own ethos, absurd paraphernalia, erotic chemistry, mischief and nonsense.
