ArtNoble Gallery is pleased to present Falling Flowers, Luca Staccioli’s second solo exhibition at the gallery, with a text by Rossella Farinotti.
In continuity with the series Kit eliminacoda multifunzione, the exhibition addresses the pic-torial and sculptural dimensions of the everyday, to investigate the idea of landscape as representation and alterity, a place of strong imbalances between human and non-human, productive and inefficient.
In Falling Flowers consumer products, commercial images, functional elements of inhabiting, of working, of human colonisation, collapse, assuming forms with organic references. They transform and multiply, imitating their own industrial production, but seeking a flowering in the error, in the sabotage, in the loss of functionality.
LUCA STACCIOLI. Born in Imperia, Italy. Lives and works between Moltedo (IM) and Milan, Italy.
Luca Staccioli’s multidisciplinary artistic practice is research-based and process-oriented, merging sculptures, photos, videos, sounds, embroideries, drawings, and collages. It explores the fragile balances between landscapes, economic efficiency, and human and non-human subjectivities.
Staccioli’s hybrid works investigate the sculptural and pictorial dimension of the everyday. They de-functionalize objects and consumer products, altering their scale, transforming their materials, and employing found objects as matrices to generate new forms. They layer micro-stories, uprooted memories, childhood fantasies. They reflect on the relationships between human bodies, artifacts, and ecosystems.
Through this processuality, understood as a political act of reimagination, Staccioli reap-propriates images and realities eroded by consumption and productivity and challenges the mechanisms of aesthetic, identity and emotional homogenization. Diversity and imaginative transformation become vehicles for the decolonization of everyday life.
Winner of the Exibart Prize (2022), the Fabbri Prize for Contemporary Art (2018) and finalist of the Premio Cairo Prize (2024), Staccioli’s works have been exhibited in various exhibitions, fairs and institutions including Triennale Milano (2024), Museo della Perma-nente (2024), Museo Gypsotheca Antonio Canova (2024), PAV Torino (2019), Miart (2024), Artissima (2022) and Fondazione Adolfo Pini (2018).
