Vertiginously sweltering plasma and ionic glowing. A new transcendence has been born from the magical heat of fusion reactors. Alien deities lurking in metallic shining of the accelerator chamber. Our engineers have become high priests. Monstrous machines and unearthly atomic beams tearing up the soft fabric of our casual utopias. A screaming comes across the rive. Technology comes to life, the alchemist is no longer in control of his furnace. We are still before the apocalypse, but order is already sinister. Powerplants are still pulsating from the glowing electron clouds inside, yet the boiling hotness is already escaping through the cracks to desertificate the planet once and for all. The sky is sparkling and reason is fading away. An occult chaos is hiding behind the thermonuclear tidiness. How long can our carefully structured interpretative narratives hold up against the unpredictable forces of confusion? Energy still flows, but with every megawatt produced, an incomprehensible cosmic truth tries to emerge. How long are we capable of comprehending the complex and subtle networks of events around us? Or, is there no map for these territories? When does reality turn into fiction? The torus’s magnetic vacuumfields are still operating, but we are not sure if it can keep the horror tremendum inside. Everybody suspects it, the glazing light reaches every corner. The last days of a bright future fill the air with static tension. We feel that something is wrong, but we cannot name it, our rational explanations are on the verge of complete exhaustion. Reason is drained with the coolant water, to give space for the scorching reality of the secret knowledge.
