A WORK
ON THE WORKING TABLE

The Table, all that means to write is The Table, to be absolutely done with it.
The table, my console and my consoler, as it is recalled to my body and at the same time my mind its notion.
May it vibrate today in unison with the chords.
It isn’t on the metaphysical that our morals rest: only on the physical.
May the subject matter presented methodically and in miniature this way {be seen | be read} in a single glance and in this way become a soundboard it vibrates today in unison with the chords.

August Thompson (born 1985, Richlands, Virginia) lives and works in Los Angeles, California. He has exhibited in New York with Room East and 55 Gansevoort; in Los Angeles with Night Gallery and Lock Up International; in London with Almine Rech. He has been included in international exhibitions at the Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens (BE), the Zabludowicz Collection (UK) and Fondazione Museo Pino Pascali (IT).
