Vermelho presents VOO CEGO [Blind flight], a new solo exhibition by André Komatsu. The exhibition occupies the main building of the gallery from October 2nd through November 13th, 2021. The exhibition is curated by Tiago de Abreu Pinto, author of the text that accompanies the exhibition’s publication.
As part of VOO CEGO, Komatsu present the performance Corpo Manifesto [Body manifest], on November 6th, at 3 pm. The performance is a collaboration between Komatsu and artists Eliza Schiavinato, Lueji Abayomi, Tom Guerra and Jamie Fraser – members of ali:este, a nomadic school-collective based in Cidade Tiradentes, a suburb in the easternmost part of São Paulo. The collective, of which Komatsu is a founding member, emerged in 2018 in the midst of presidential elections.
The performance will also be presented on October 9th as part of Komatsu’s Noite longa [Long Night] installation, on view at the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo. Curated by Ana Maria Maia, the installation will be on display until November 8.
