On Thursday 6th June we opened, during the Art Palma Summer, “Unchained” the first exhibition that Alberto Feijoo and Guillermo Ros has made in collaboration.
Unchained is a dialogue between Guillermo Ros and Alberto Feijóo.
They met at a collective exhibition in 2014, and after that they started an exchange of images from a distance, which becomes a material object at times and thus creating a code between them.
Unchained is a work where personal experiences are combined and the role of the artist as producer / accumulator within the Art system is questioned.
At the Gallery the exhibition takes the form of a shared floor.
In this room, occupied by tenants, there is a series of everyday elements with works by both artists. Here the dialogue between the two artists materializes.
With the purpose of this exhibition, Unchained Vol.1 is published, a publication that includes a selection of images that both artists have shared among themselves in recent years in the distance.
Assuming the context, both personal and general of the art system, this book is shown as an inexhaustible machine of schizophrenic production doing it from a testimonial role.
Alberto Feijóo is an accumulator, collector, apprentice, producer and visual artist interested in the materiality of the image and its relationship with other fields such as sculpture, installation, books or the spaces we inhabit. In his work we can see a devastated landscape where the representation becomes a three-dimensional artifact fleeting, fragile and marginal.
Currently, Guillermo Ros’s work focuses on the systemic violence inherent in the process of artistic creation.
The tactility of the materials used together with the creation of scenographies are the fundamental features of the creative process.
