one received a stranger’s letter:
an invitation for the hunt.
one accepted
with no preparation
the hunt began
soak
hunt
they then agreed to build a garden
to put smiles on, paint smiles on, soak into
soak
hunt
one shared the memory of a garden
then invited the other to visit
the other accepted
and placed a ship in it
this became the pattern

hunt
they met another hunter
who’d hunted forever
glowing, draggin
creatures on her back
she became the guide
soak
hunt
while hunting they figured they needed sounds, music
and weapons
instruments for keeping the evil away
gathered branches
so they remembered the harp
expanded the thorn of the rose
considered the bow
soak
hunt
for 33 days they hunted
by a drop of sweat
the garden and a portal for others to enter was set
this became a pattern
