Fakewhale is thrilled to unveil ‘AGH1’, an exclusive exhibition by the renowned artist collective consisting of Kim Asendorf, Andreas Gysin, and Leander Herzog. This distinguished trio will present an installation that delves into the realm of generative art, examining its relationship with time. The exhibit will feature dynamic works that perpetually evolve, offering an ever-changing experience to the audience. This event, curated by Giuseppe Moscatello, and supported by Valuart is a highlight of the Art Dubai season, aligning perfectly with the city’s focus on innovative contemporary art and its commitment to being a global cultural hub.

Gallery 4, located in the heart of Downtown Dubai, is part of Foundry, a hybrid progressive art space founded as a response to the evolving cultural scene in the UAE.

AGH1 makes its first appearance in Dubai following its inaugural unveiling in Berlin last December, celebrating generative art and architectural coding, creating a self-generating aesthetic at the crossroads of technology and art.

The unique character of their work lies in the seamless integration of aesthetic refinement with sophisticated algorithms, an amalgamation that signals a groundbreaking confluence of artistic endeavor and technological prowess.

This body of work actively defies the conventional boundaries of architectural design and digital methodologies. Characterized by abstract, evolving animations, these creations commence with elemental compositions, which progressively unfold into elaborate geometric structures and nuanced chromatic layers, traversing time and spatial dimensions.

The work presented is a unique and continuous stream, akin to a browser page responding through code, constituting the exhibit as a self-adapting body of work that seamlessly integrates through space.

The exhibition is further enriched by a series of digital prints, intimately connected to the primary installation.

The trio’s output transcends mere visual spectacle. It embodies the ethos of dynamic, generative architecture. Their artistic conceptualization is rendered tangible through the medium of coding, an approach that challenges and redefines the parameters of conceptual art.

Intriguingly, these works are in perpetual flux, eschewing a fixed narrative. They aspire to depict reality in its unadorned state, through the metaphor of the interplay between hardware and software. On a larger canvas, they reflect an aspirational model of society.
