In the works of Ádám Horváth, nature appear as a shelter, an idyllic environment in the shadow of the image of a mystical world. It is difficult to judge to what extent the painted landscape that unfolds before us is real. This environment can mostly create a feeling as if it is a colorful, constantly forming, shape-changing entity made of dark, organic structures. This illusory landscape, undefinable in space and time, seeks to record the past, evoking an era in earth history in which man was not the dominant destructive factor shaping nature. And these theatrical scenes rebuild a longed-for, past, natural state based on sensual experiences. The lyrical tone remains, while we can see various tools, phenomena, and situations from the immortalization of a bygone era or even from the shaping of a strange utopia. Ádám Horváth’s paintings show his impressions of the present, faced with the experience of the ruthless degradation of the environment. The dark mood and visual language of the works reinforce the sense of fear and vulnerability in relation to nature and communities. As a result of everything, we have to look for solutions contrary to the sciences, which can lead all the way to mysticism.
