We carve local wood and local stone,
Our workshops are equipped with both old and modern machinery,
And with the help of a small team we made this exhibition.
Reliefs with courgettes and cloned human busts,
A corpulent mirror carp and a repetition of toes,
Arms, muscles and fragments of oily bodies out of oiled oak.
Sculptures in the round, depicting cabinets and chests of drawers,
As a meeting point between animals of different species and varieties of vegetables,
With smooth or hairy skins.
Benches, with Snails, Wild Mallows, Bumble Bees, Garden Tigers,
Cabbage Whites, Jersey Tigers, Colorado Beetles and Potato flowers.
Chisel strokes and embroidery stitches flickering, bees, moths and butterflies fluttering.
Sap and silica, animals, insects and plants of Europe, inter-speciesism,
Proto-industrial manufacture, mammalian fantasies and pastoral hallucinations.
Water, milk, puddles, earthy apples,
Rummaging in the mud, excavating, leaning, rubbing inside the block,
Rough and coarse grit, a granite beach.
A garden folly in the form of farmyard furniture,
A hollowed out trough, a pig,
An ornamental vessel for ordinary rurality.
