SpazioA is proud to present on Saturday April 13, 2019, 6 pm, Mondi Perfetti (Perfect Worlds), a solo show by Chiara Camoni (Piacenza, 1974).
At this show, Chiara Camoni creates spaces: architecture-sculpture, islands to observe or frequent, images and objects to use. These places were born, in prior-time, from the relationships that prepared them, from the worlds and actions that accompanied them, and then continue, in post-time, through their now being in the world.
I often work with other people. In recent months, the process has even intensified.
There’s always a lot that occurs between me, myself, and I, of course, but when it’s time to start kneading, a group appears, the party begins.
And thus, as always, Elisa, Camilla, Paola, Silvia. Patrizia. Luca and Matteo. Giuseppe, Michael and Fabio. Davide with Anna and Caterina. Maria and Pietro, the Various Authors.
I read all one summer long with Cecilia. We read next to each other, then spoke, went for walks.
It was so nice we wanted it to continue.
We told each other words mingle with gestures, give shape to things, create Space.
When I work, I search for a Meaning, for my life, for my being in the world, in this Story.
When this Meaning is shared, it’s a small miracle.
It’s our way of resisting – the fear, the passage of time, the news of the day.
I make a Vase and I remake the World.
We all need grace, a bit of beauty.
Perfect Worlds.
They last for an instant, then everything dissolves, the flow of daily life returns, and we are swept away.
But I go back to work – resume creating – another moment of grace, another Perfect World.

Chiara Camoni (Piacenza, 1974) lives and works in Fabbiano, in Alta Versilia (Tuscany). After graduating in Sculpting from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Milano, she worked for a few years at the Natural Sciences Institute in Napoli. Together with artist friends she founded Magra – the Museum of Contemporary Art of Granara. With Cecilia Canziani she is currently developing a series of seminars entitled La Giusta Misura at Murate Progetti Arte Contemporanea di Firenze.
Her recent shows include: Zenzic, with Anna Barham, curated by Caterina Avataneo, Arcade Gallery, London; Sisters, MIMA – Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, Middlesbrough; La Vita Materiale.
