When…

… moving is not in itself interesting but together with its consequences.
… time thickens into the space.
… fiction materializes into reality.
… vision settles as fact.
… the dream sharpens into objectivity.
… resignation masks itself as self-irony.

When the artwork…
… sets its nonsense up on a pedestal.
… is aware of its own inertia.
… is tragicomical.
… wants to be some kind of a testament.
… fancies itself as its own metaphor.

Joseph TASNÁDI (1960) lives and works in Budapest, Hungary. He’d studied architecture and fine arts. He’s preoccupied by the depiction modalities of time, of the notional abstraction, of the invisible and of the possible as such. He explores the relations between the contradiction and visuality. At first he worked as architect and graphic artist, later as painter. Following that he produced mainly installations and utopian plan-art. For a while his field of interest expanded to the digital manipulation of images and software art as well as to video stage design for contemporary theatre and dance performances. At persent his focus has turned towards multimedia installation and intervention art. Tasnádi is an associate professor at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art And Design, Budapest.
